Repair & Service FAQs
How do I fix a kids' electric ride-on car that won't turn on or hold a charge?
A ride-on vehicle that won't power on typically points to one of three causes: a fully depleted battery, a blown safety fuse, or a faulty charging switch. If the battery has gone unused for an extended period, it may no longer be able to hold a charge. Rather than troubleshooting the electrical system on your own, book a complimentary virtual diagnostic consultation and one of our technicians will help identify the issue over video, or bring the vehicle to our Chicago or Boca Raton, FL showroom for an in-person inspection.
Why does my ride-on car make a clicking or grinding noise when I press the pedal?
A clicking sound usually means the control board relay is functioning, but battery voltage is dropping too low under load to drive the motors. A grinding sound typically indicates that the internal gearbox teeth have worn down or stripped. To identify the exact parts needed, schedule a free gearbox and motor video diagnosis, or bring the vehicle to our Chicago or Boca Raton location for a full inspection and repair.
Where can I find reliable repair support for a motorized ride-on toy?
Most retailers do not offer repair support, replacement parts, or maintenance once a ride-on vehicle leaves the store. Kids Car Dealers provides ongoing service for every vehicle we sell — book a free virtual diagnosis or an in-person appointment for nationwide troubleshooting, or visit our Chicago or Boca Raton showroom for professional in-store repair and to browse our current inventory.
What happens after I book a drop-off appointment?
Once your appointment is confirmed, a team member from your selected location — Chicago or Boca Raton, FL — will contact you directly by phone with driving directions and drop-off instructions.
What if my child's car is covered under an extended warranty?
Extended warranty claims are filed directly with CPS, and your vehicle must be registered before a claim can be submitted. Your original warranty confirmation was emailed by CPS at the time of purchase — check your inbox if you're unable to locate it. Once your claim is filed, book your appointment through our website and provide your CPS order number. For help locating your warranty details, contact us at support@kidscardealers.com; note that we're unable to file the claim on your behalf.
